Reason for being a hot spotSince 1995, spent motor oil is not collected and treated in Oblast, and became a serious source of environmental pollution.
Status in elimination procedureIn progress
Environmental status in 2003 report5908 tons of spent motor oil has been formed and 5621 tons recycled, decontaminated or delivered for decontamination.
Present statusIn 2011: 318 tons of spent motor oil was formed and 298 tons recycled, decontaminated or delivered for decontamination.
Joint projects 
Actions doneAccording to official data, the major share of spent motor oil is treated in specialized companies. Altogether 17 companies have a licence for such activities.
